Raising and training a puppy

A trained dog is a free dog!

So that you do not have problems when communicating and raising your pet, you need to devote a little time to training. Your dog will become more well-mannered and obedient. After the puppy gets used to the owner and begins to trust him, they begin his systematic training, which helps to strengthen contact, show affection and devotion.

SOCIAL ADAPTATION

The period of imprinting in puppies lasts up to 3-4 months. Therefore, it is very important to bring the puppy into the "light" as soon as possible. At this age, puppies are very curious, they want to get acquainted with the world around them.

So that your pet is not afraid of people, it is advisable to be with him more often in society. You can take your dog with you to visits, shops, etc.

Thus, getting more and more accustomed to the environment, your pet will adequately perceive the guests coming to your home or just passing by people, other animals and vehicles. Do not think that everything will turn out right away, this is a very painstaking task, so be patient.

CLEANING TRAINING

The place next to the puppy's house can be covered with a newspaper or a diaper. When, after eating, the puppy starts to worry about finding a place to relieve himself, take him to a diaper or newspaper. After the baby does his job, be sure to praise him. Gradually move the newspaper or diaper away from the puppy's place to a place convenient for you.

You decided not to be content with newspapers and diapers, and accustom your baby to cope with his needs in a tray. This is a more labor intensive process.

A toilet for miniature breed dogs, which many owners prefer not to walk very often, especially in chilly and frosty weather, is an integral part of life, and it is necessary to accustom a puppy to it as soon as he appears in your house.

During your pet's toilet training, all floor coverings (carpets, etc.) must be removed. Do not tempt the baby, once writing on any piece of furniture that perfectly absorbs his "deeds", your puppy will constantly use it as a toilet.

If the puppy does not have a limited place of his stay (one room, kitchen), first buy a few trays, and place them in those places that the baby has chosen for himself to meet his needs.

The undesirable territory for you that you do not want to allocate for these purposes, but already marked with a dog, must be thoroughly washed and treated with Antipis or Antigadin, and sometimes, following the instructions, repeat the treatment. And suddenly discovered a puddle, blot with toilet paper and put it in his tray.

Do not forget that for each entry into the tray and managing "their affairs" there, the baby must be praised and given a treat. Place the puppy in the tray immediately after sleeping and eating - during this period, there is usually a need to empty the bladder and intestines.

Teaching a puppy to sit on command
Command "Sit!"

Raise the treat above the puppy's head up and slightly back. Aiming for a treat, the puppy will raise its head and sit down. Say the Command "Sit!" and reward the puppy with an exclamation of "Good!" and delicacy. If he tries to get up, then the command "Sit!" should be said in a more commanding tone, holding the dog by the collar. During one lesson, repeat the exercise 3-4 times with short breaks.

Puppy call
Team "Come to me!"

"To me!" - should become your dog's favorite command. Make every effort (treat, play, praise, etc.) so that the puppy runs to you with joy.

During the walk, the dog's name is pronounced, followed by the command "Come to me!" with an affectionate intonation. A running puppy is encouraged by stroking, exclaiming "Good!", Treats. If the puppy is distracted and does not respond to the nickname and command, you need to sit down or run away from him. As a rule, he notices this immediately and runs up to the owner, for which he encourages him. Try to get the puppy as close to you as possible. After that, sit the puppy down and praise. Give the command "Close" and lure the puppy with a treat so that he bypasses you from behind. Sit the puppy at the left leg.

Exercise your puppy for no more than 5 to 10 minutes several times during the walk. Try to spend classes in different places, but so that the puppy is not distracted by other dogs, people, etc. Play with your puppy more often. This is how you form his affection and love for yourself.
Teaching a puppy to lie down on command
The command "Down!"

Lure the puppy with a treat while it sits, moving your hand down and forward until the puppy lies down. Say the command "Down!". After the puppy has completely laid down, it is necessary to encourage him with the word "Good!" and give a treat. Feed your puppy a few treats. Hold the puppy with your left hand so that he does not stand up. When the puppy learns the exercise, get up. At the same time, make sure that the puppy does not stand up after you, repeat the "Lie down" command.

Teaching a puppy to transition to a free state
Team "Walk!"

Sit the puppy at the left leg on the "Sit" command. Command "Walk!" and make a gesture with an outstretched hand. Encourage the puppy to walk forward, run a few steps with him and let him go for a walk. Be sure to complete your classes with this team.

Teaching a puppy to bring objects Command "Aport!"

Play prank on the puppy with his favorite toy, then throw it not too far away for the puppy to see. Give the command "Aport!". Wait for the puppy to grab the toy. Repeat the command "Aport!" and the exclamation "Good!". If the dog does not take the object, then kick it away with a leg movement and encourage the puppy to take the toy. Then get his attention and call. Command "Give!" and exchange the toy for a treat.

Teaching a puppy to move around
Team "Next!"

Hold the hand with the treat at the level of the puppy's face. To attract the attention of the dog, name the nickname, give the command "Next!" and start moving forward. Make sure that the puppy does not run ahead and does not lag behind. The puppy's shoulder should be at the level of your knee. If the dog is not walking alongside, you must give the command again and jerk the leash forward if the dog lags behind; back if it runs ahead; towards you if you step aside. When stopping, give the "Close" command and seat the puppy in the manner described above. Praise your puppy! Remember to say the command when changing pace or direction.
